Bóbrka is a small village close to Sanok. Its Jewish community was so small that it did not even have its own synagogue or cemetery. In order to attend religious services and bury their loved ones they had to travel to the nearby Lesko.
Lesko, therefore, became the main focus of the project carried out by the participants of the School of Dialogue, seventh and eighth graders from a primary school in Bóbrka. Both the synagogue and Jewish cemetery of Lesko were preserved, together with other material traces of local Jewish life. The students prepared a traditional walking tour, during which they presented the history and culture of the local Jewish community to their younger fellow students and teachers and pointed out some of the remaining traces of Jewish heritage in Lesko.
The students based the tour on the information they gathered from the locally available written sources and meetings with eyewitnesses.
A lasting outcome of the project is a short movie, How little do we know about many, which features all the information collected by the students in preparation for the tour, including an interview with an eyewitness.
