Stalowa Wola

Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski Elementary School No. 4

The School of Dialogue project in Stalowa Wola focused on Rozwadów, one of the town’s districts that had once been a township itself. Jewish heritage sites include the synagogue building (now housing a grocery store) and old tenement houses. A small but dedicated group of students from the local Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski Elementary School no.4 prepared a lesson in memory for their fellow students.

They outlined Rozwadów’s history, described the synagogue and the cemetery and talked about Jewish culture and holidays. They also rendered life stories of a few local Jewish residents, whose photos they were able to obtain. The presentation was followed by a quiz checking how much participants had learned that day, while dates and matzoh bread were offered as refreshments during the lesson itself.
