Żyrardów

Stefan Żeromski High School

Virtually no buildings remain of the rich Jewish past of Żyrardów.

Seventh graders who participated in the School of Dialogue project decided to organize a trip to Warsaw on the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (April 19, 2020). Incidentally, their grade number is 7, and so is the number of their school. Bożena Gąsiorowska, an expert on local history, helped them to collect information in preparation for the trip.

The project participants organized a history lesson for fifth graders at their school, which they used to share the knowledge they collected preparing for the trip. The project participants would like to establish at the school a tradition of participation in School of Dialogue programs and encourage younger students to get involved.
