In 2013, I was responsible for a group of students participating in the School of Dialogue program whose aim was to commemorate Grójec’s Jewish past and to raise awareness among local residents about the town’s multicultural heritage. Without any outside assistance, students prepared walking tours through local Jewish sites, made a film and conducted a historical reenactment dressed in historical Jewish clothes.

Tour participants included, among others, senior citizens from the University of the Third Age. Thanks to the media exposure, the project had an even larger impact. The walking tour paved the way for a historical route devoted to the town’s Jewish residents, while the students were named among the finalists of the 2013 School of Dialogue Gala in Warsaw’s Teatr Wielki – National Opera.
