Thanks to the efforts of Dukla Shtetl Association and its founder and president, Leader of Dialogue, Jacek Koszczan, Anna Szubrycht, who is a Righteous Among the Nations, was recognized with the Pro Patria Medal, a civil state decoration awarded in Poland. Her daughter accepted the medal on her mother’s behalf at the 3rd National Summit of Poles Who Saved Jews during the Second World War, which took place in Rzeszów.

Together with her parents, Franciszka and Franciszek Welcer, Anna Szubrycht offered shelter to Joszua and Józef Guzik at the family farm for two years. She was awarded the Righteous Among the Nations title in 2014 and presented with medal and certificate by Ambassador of Israel to Poland Anna Azari during a ceremony held during the 3rd Days of Jewish Culture “Let Us Restore the Memory,” organized by the Dukla Shtetl Association, local authorities, the Dukla Historical Museum, and the local cultural center.
