Urszula Antosz-Rekucka plans to use the funds of the Scholarship for Local Projects to organize two types of meetings with descendants of Mszana Dolna Jews: local meetings in Mszana Dolna combined with commemoration ceremony marking the anniversary of the murder of Jewish residents of the town and meetings with Survivors and their families in Israel.
In July, Urszula will make a seven-day trip to Israel to meet with families of Jewish Survivors. She also plans visits to the archives of the Museum of Ghetto Fighters and Yad Vashem to search for information about Mszana Jews. This will also help establish further contacts. After returning to Poland, Urszula will publish the results of her meetings and research on the Sztetl Mszana Dolna Shtetl and in local media.
In August, as part of the ceremony commemorating the victims of the Holocaust from Mszana Dolna, she will organize a meeting between the families of Jewish Survivors with the representatives of the local government, parishes and institutions, such as the public library and schools. This will be the first meeting of this kind between Jewish guests from Israel and the USA and the local community.
Meetings with Jewish descendants in Mszana Dolna and their place of residence will allow to strengthen relationships already existing and establish new ones, including a wider group of representatives of the descendants of Mszana Jews.
