Marek Chmielewski, the Mayor of Orla and the Chair of the local Agricultural Society, works to restore and preserve local Jewish heritage. In the 300-years old building of the Orla synagogue, he is planning to open an exhibition about the Orla Jewish community through archival documents, photographs and witness testimonies.
The grant funds will be spent on a model of the prewar Orla, a centerpiece of the exhibit, which will be created as part of a series of modeling workshops for children and young adults supervised by an expert modeller.
