A Community of Changemakers
Mariusz Czuj, Vice-President of the Włodawa-Sobibór Gate of Memory Association, received a grant for a pilot study visit for students from the Włodawa county to the Museum – Synagogue Complex in Włodawa and the Sobibór Museum. The motivation for the project comes from the fact that Though Włodawa and Sobibór have memorials for the Jewish community, there is little to educate and spread the knowledge of the multiethnic history of the town and the area.
The project also features preparatory classes for students prior to the visit. The successful pilot will serve as the starting point for a dialogue with local government representatives and school authorities to have the visits included into the local school curricula.
