We are delighted to share with you that members of the Leaders of Dialogue network were recently recognized for their activism.

Among the six people nominated for this year’s POLIN Award and selected from among 100 candidates are three members of the Leaders of Dialogue network: Urszula Antosz-Rekucka active in Mszana Dolna, Marek Chmielewski working in Orla, and Dariusz Popiela, active in the Podhale region. The winner will be announced on November 30 at 8 p.m. Warsaw time. The POLIN Award is presented to people whose activism preserves the memory of Polish Jews and contributes to a shared future of mutual understanding and respect between Poles and Jews.

The Jerzy Boniecki Polcul Foundation awarded eight individuals whose work contributes to building civic society in Poland.

Among the awardees are two members of the Leaders of Dialogue network: Michał Rapta, recognized for his efforts to locate and preserve physical traces of Jewish life in Rabka and the histories of Rabka Jews, and Dariusz Popiela, for his work to preserve the Jewish heritage and memory in Poland via his organization the Popiela Family Foundation “Centrum.”

Anna Brzyska, working to preserve the memory of the prewar Jewish life in Brzesko, was awarded the 2030 Father Stanisław Musiał award for social initiatives. The award is presented to those who contribute to Jewish/Christian and Polish/Jewish dialogue.
