„Living Memory Bridge from Past to Present”

As part of the “Living Memory Bridge from Past to Present” project, Jakub Niewiński focuses on the fate of two Jewish families from Murowana Goślina: Markowicz family (now Gil) and Magnus family (now Wimborne). The members of these families – descendants of Goślin Jews – currently live in Israel, Australia and the United States. Research into the history of the Markowicz and Magnus families mainly aims at joint activities in the town space. The project is addressed both to the residents of Murowana Goślina (a location based game for families, anti-discrimination workshops for different generational groups, joint work on preparing plaques commemorating the Jewish community of the town) and to guests from abroad.

During the three-day visit of the descendants of Goślin Jews living in Australia, a joint dinner, an Internet conference with other descendants of Jews from Murowana Goślina and a ceremony of unveiling commemoration plaques will be held. The materials from the project – photos, texts and memoirs of the descendants – will be made available on the website of the Town Hall and in the form of publications.
