In July, the members of Leaders of Dialogue Łódź-Świętokrzyskie regional group toured their region together. In Kielce, they visited the exhibition at Planty 7 and met with Andrzej Białek from the The Jan Karski Society, who shared with them the history of Kielce Jews, the pogrom of 1946, and talked about preserving memory, tolerance and openness. In Chęciny, Leaders followed the trail of the cultural and historical heritage of Jews, visiting a synagogue, a cemetery and a place with the only preserved trace of a mezuzah in the town. The visit to Jędrzejów was guided by Klaudia Kwiecińska, the regional group’s coordinator. She presented the Jewish history of the town, taking members of the group for a walk through old tenement houses, the Pińczowska Street, once filled with the sound of Yiddish, and the Jewish cemetery.

For me, this was a meeting full of care for small places and micro-stories.
