Upon our request, the City Council of Biłgoraj erected two monuments commemorating places connected with the Jews of Biłgoraj.

The initiative of building the first in the world monument of the I.B Singer was supported by the society in Biłgoraj. The bench commemorating Noble Prize Winner was created thanks to the contributions of the citizens of Biłgoraj.

Since there were three Jewish cemeteries in Biłgoraj, and only some fragments of one remain until this day, we decided to build a “Wall of Remembrance” as a symbolic matzevah for all the living and decedent Jews of Biłgoraj.

With the support of Biłgoraj’s community and the Jews of Biłgoraj, we managed to collect funds which allowed us to build the wall. The unveiling ceremony took place on 6 September, 2016.

Biłgoraj was completely destroyed during the war. This is why we support the construction of a Borderland Town, one of the elements of which is a shtetl. The shtetl will have a beautiful wooden synagogue, Singer’s house and a market square surrounded by houses.
