Pabianice

Grants and scholarships for Leaders of Dialogue

Andrzej Grzegorczyk’s project entails a commemoration of the Jewish community of Pabianice that will focus on the Jewish history and heritage of the Konstantynowska Street area. It will involve installing markers at sites crucial for the Jewish history of Pabianice. The installation will be accompanied by educational activities, with a focus on the history of the Pabianice ghetto, including presentations on the fate of Jews of Pabianice and other nearby towns forced to move to ghettos in the region.

In addition, current residents of Pabianice and visitors will be invited to join an educational walk through the Pabianice Ghetto area and the Jewish cemetery, also located in the town. The project, financed thanks to a Forum for Dialogue grant, is a continuation of Andrzej’s activism in the region. It is expected to strengthen the cooperation between those in Pabianice and elsewhere who care about the town’s Jewish history and heritage.

In 2023, the Leaders of Dialogue program, including grants and scholarships, is financed thanks to the generosity of Friends of the Forum, LEDOR WADOR Foundation, United States Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad and individual donors and institutions from Poland and abroad supporting Forum for Dialogue. Scholarships for personal development are possible thanks to The David and Anna Dlugie Kliger Scholarship Fund.
