Thanks to our exemplary cooperation with the city’s mayor – Janusz Rosłan, we were able sign a partnership agreement with the city of Afula in Israel. An agreement establishing partnership between Afula and Biłgoraj supported actions that allowed to extend cooperation in many areas.

The agreement is beneficial in many ways, especially in the area of establishing contacts between Polish and Israeli youth. Every year, young people from Afuli visit Biłgoraj, while young people from Biłgoraj head to Israel. These contacts allow participants to free themselves from mutual stereotypes.

Young people continue the friendships they established in the course of their visits after returning home.
Many famous Israeli artists were invited to Biłgoraj. Leon Ptashka, Baldi Olier, Daniell Akta, actors of the Yiddishpiel Theatre, the Hasder choir, to drop just a few names. Israeli and Polish actors successfully performed I. B. Singer’s “Old Love”.
In cooperation with the Israeli-Polish Chamber of Commerce, economic missions to Israel were organized, thanks to  which companies established relationships which resulted in signed contracts.
