The project entails the organization of a two-day conference focused on the ways to preserve the historic Orla synagogue through renovation and maintenance by a local non-profit cultural organization. Apart from its role as a historic building, the synagogue will serve as a memorial for the local Jewish community and a culture center for the Orla residents. The Conference will feature representatives of artistic and technical colleges, as well as representatives of local authorities and non-profits.
The participants will have a chance to visit the location and learn about its history and architecture in order to develop a plan for the building’s use and obtaining funding for its implementation. The ultimate aim is to create a document outlining the plan for the synagogue and have all the stakeholders sign a letter of intent.
