Ireneusz Socha - Leader of Dialogue in Dębica

The four-part musical series “Ladner” was created in 2014 on commission of “Once We Were” (“Byliśmy”) exhibition curators Dorota Krakowska and Anna Bujnowska. The exhibition was held in BWA gallery in Tarnów between June 11 and August 24, 2014. The compositions were played in the form of a music installation in the Arian Chapel in Tarnów’s District Museum at Rynek 20-21. The exhibition, presenting works by contemporary artists alongside historical sources, was devoted to prewar Jewish residents of Tarnów and the surrounding area. Some of the artworks were based on local archive materials, others were more universal in character. All pieces, through different channels and media, attempted to recover the sites, testimonies and – most importantly – the people, who had been an integral part of Tarnów and the world before the war. Artists showcased in the exhibition included: Kinga Bielec, Marek Chlanda, Ulrike Grossarth, Assaf Gruber, Stefania Gurdowa, Tadeusz Kantor, William Kentridge, Wilhelm Sasnal, Ireneusz Socha, Wiola Sowa & Dorota Krakowska, Wojciech Wilczyk.
