Krzysztof Przybyłowicz - Leader of Dialogue in Biecz

The program of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the annihilation of Biecz Jews included a few days of events. The events organized under the auspices of the Mayor of Biecz, Mirosław Wędrychowicz, were initiated and organized by Krzysztof Przybyłowicz. The ceremonies began on August 16, 2017 with the opening of the exhibition “All the roads…” in the municipal library. An hour later, a meeting with Monika Sznajderman, author of the book “Fałszerze pieprzu”, was held in the same venue. The main commemoration events were held on August 18.

These included:

  • Prayer at the Jewish cemetery with the participation of Rabbi Pinchas Pamp  from Dynow,
  • March of remembrance, which included sites of martyrdom of Biecz Jews (cemetery, court, jail, railway station),
  • Reading a roll call of memory at the market square at the site of gathering of Jews before deportation to Belzec,
  • A meeting of the town authorities with Jewish descendants of Biecz.

On August 19, starting at 4 p.m. Krzysztof Przybyłowicz gave a guided tour of the Jewish shtetl, and at 8.30 p.m. Urszula Makosz from Krakow gave a concert of Jewish music.

A film presenting the commemoration events was co-created by Krzysztof Przybyłowicz.
