What’s the future of the Orla synagogue? The possible answers to this question were discussed by the participants of the conference organized on October 17 and 18 by Marek Chmielewski, the head of Orla’s self-government and a member of Forum’s Leaders of Dialogue network. Two-day conference was focused on finding the best ways to preserve the historic Orla synagogue through renovation as well as maintenance by a local non-profit organization running a cultural program, because apart from its role as a landmark the building should serve as a memorial for the local Jewish community and a cultural center for the Orla residents. The conference was attended by the representatives of artistic and technical colleges as well as members of local authorities and non-profits. Check out the photos from the event!
