Grants and Scholarships for Leaders of Dialogue

The awarded project foresees the organization of an open-air exhibition. It will be preceded by educational activities involving selected Chełm elementary and secondary schools. They will be supported by the descendants of Jewish families from Chełm, associated in the Chelmer Organization of Israel, whose presence will also grace the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition will complement the ceremonies commemorating the 80th anniversary of the destruction of the Chem ghetto. It will be based on archival documents and photographs and on memoirs of Survivors. In order to collect them, the author has consulted the archives and institutions in Chełm, Lublin, Sobibór, Warsaw, as well as in the USA and Israel.  The exhibition will be available in Polish and English.

The Leaders of Dialogue program, including grants and scholarships, was financed thanks to the generosity of Friends of the Forum, Ledor Wador Foundation, and individual donors and institutions from Poland and abroad supporting Forum for Dialogue. Scholarships for personal development are possible thanks to The David and Anna Dlugie Kliger Scholarship Fund.
