Włodawa

Grants and Scholarships for Leaders of Dialogue

The project seeks to introduce the local community not only to the unique testimonies of the tragic events of the World War II but also to the earliest history of Włodawa’s Jewish residents. So far, no educational materials or lesson plans have been created that would cover  all three Jewish cemeteries in Włodawa. Therefore, one of the aims of the project is to draft educational materials for school classes or workshops, to be used by students in Włodawa district and beyond.

The project also includes a permanent commemoration in the form of a plague commemorating the nonexistent cemetery on Wiejska Street in Włodawa. Its unveiling is scheduled for October 2022 and will be attended by ten descendants of Włodawa Jews.

The Leaders of Dialogue program, including grants and scholarships, was financed thanks to the generosity of Friends of the Forum, Ledor Wador Foundation, and individual donors and institutions from Poland and abroad supporting Forum for Dialogue. Scholarships for personal development are possible thanks to The David and Anna Dlugie Kliger Scholarship Fund.
