Żychlin

Grants and Scholarships for Leaders of Dialogue

In Żychlin there were no initiatives disseminating knowledge about the town’s Jewish heritage. No ceremonies have been held to commemorate the Holocaust. The project assumes carrying out a permanent commemoration of the Jewish community: placing a memorial stone with a plaque. It will be accompanied by other initiatives striving to raise knowledge about Żychlin’s Jewish heritage.

Students from local schools will help clear up the Jewish cemetery and collect testimonies about Żychlin Jews from the witnesses of history. Last but not least, the project will feature an exhibition on the history of the Jewish community of Żychlin.

The Leaders of Dialogue program, including grants and scholarships, was financed thanks to the generosity of Friends of the Forum, Ledor Wador Foundation, and individual donors and institutions from Poland and abroad supporting Forum for Dialogue. Scholarships for personal development are possible thanks to The David and Anna Dlugie Kliger Scholarship Fund.
