Leader of Dialogue in Tomaszów Mazowiecki
The project, carried out as part of a scholarship for local activities, aims at creating a guide to the Tomaszów Mazowiecki ghetto entitled “Black silhouettes”. Available in Polish and English, this guide will present information about the creation, functioning and liquidation of the Tomaszów Mazowiecki Ghetto, and will include a map with drawings (ghetto borders, important points and places connected to the functioning of the ghetto and the pre-war Jewish community). There will also be Survivors testimonies, archival photographs, facsimile and selected figures important for the life of the Jewish community in Tomaszów Mazowiecki ghetto.
The guide will be available free of charge on the two-language website of the Spaces of Memory Foundation (in PDF format) and in the Tourist Information Office (in printed form).
As part of the project, Justyna Biernat will also conduct workshops referring to the guide with teachers and history enthusiasts and lead educational walks. Such initiatives will allow Justyna reach the local youth with the guide.
