A long time ago, when I was still in high school, I encountered wonderful teachers who presented Radom to me. It was then that I heard for the first time about Radom’s ghetto and “Friends of Knowledge” Society Jewish School. In 1980s, I witnessed a strange visit paid by guests from Israel to my grandmother – they wanted to thank her for hiding them during World War II. Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about this story and I am not sure what exactly my grandmother had done to help them. In 2006, my colleagues from High School no.6 in Radom gathered information about the “Friends of Knowledge” Society Secondary Jewish School and asked me to assist them with photo reproductions. In 2009, I was the editor for the guidebook Spacerkiem po Radomiu (“On a small walk through Radom”). As part of multicultural description of Radom, I focused on the “Jewish cultural route”.

In 2011, Forum for Dialogue invited the school I work in to participate in School of Dialogue program. As I already had some knowledge about Jewish traces in our town, I joined the project with a friend – a history teacher. I am a teacher, pedagogue and tour-guide. My interests include photography, regional and cultural studies as well as tourism. I teach young people to explore the town where they attend school. When talking about Radom’s history, I point out elements of Jewish culture. A number of times I had the opportunity to prepare students for the role of local guides for study visit groups through School of Dialogue. I am constantly expanding my knowledge so that I can continue passing it on to school students and local residents through holding and leading dedicated walking tours.
