In my case, it all started with … my wife. It was she who “infected” me with her passion for Jewish culture and for preserving the memory of the Jewish residents of the town. For many years I was simply there to help, supported her, until the moment came when I myself felt that I want to do something creative in this matter.
I run my own business in the marketing and sales sector. I am a proud father of two doctoral students at the Jagiellonian University, beloved owner of a black mongrel dog whose name translates to Snout. Traveling is my passion, as is planning my future trips. I enjoy reading, going to the theater, hiking in the mountains and more. I am an eager moviegoer. My wife and I belong to the Polish Council of Christians and Jews. I am the vice-president and co-founder of the Mszana Dolna Shtetl Foundation.
For many years I served as the backroom support for my wife’s activities by carrying benches, arranging sound equipment, hanging decorations for ceremonies, taking photos of memorial events, etc. I co-organized Holocaust Anniversaries in our town and I co-initiated the commemoration of the Victims by naming the alley leading to the mass grave in Pańskie hill after them (in 2012), the commemoration of the site of the Mszana synagogue with a memorial plaque (in 2020), the ceremony to honor the Righteous Among the Nations, Stefania and Józef Wacławik, with the Tree of Remembrance (in 2020). I was the initiator of establishing the Mszana Dolna Shtetl Foundation (in 2021), at which I am responsible for contacts with institutions, legal and accounting services, and I undertake fundraising initiatives (with some success). I have graduated from the Academy of Guardians of Memory and organized a series of meetings to present the Righteous Among the Nations originating from Mszana Dolna.
