We are happy to announce that the Competition Commission, appointed by the Board of Forum for Dialogue, chaired by Hanna Gospodarczyk Chair, and composed of Monika Halaczek, and Roma Sendyka, Agnieszka Haska, Zuzanna Radzik, has selected the following members of the Leaders of Dialogue network to receive co-financing of their projects.

Projects selected in the Grant Competition:

  • Anita Rucioch-Gołek, Wojciech Olejniczak, and the Tres Foundation: “The 85th Anniversary of Polenaktion 1938” (awarded 3 381,00 USD);
  • Agata Radkowska-Parka and the “Well of Memory” Association: “Volunteers for the bilingual Lubliner Reunion 2023”  (awarded 1 505,45 USD);
  • Andrzej Grzegorczyk and Center for Jewish Research Association: “Pabianice Ghetto Streets: Commemoration of Konstantynowska Street” (awarded 2 033,11 USD);
  • Anna Brzyska and the “Memory and Dialogue. Shared History” Association: “Recovering Memory: Plaque commemorating Jewish students at the local High School and Commemoration of Mala Zimetbaum at the Brzesko Jewish Cemetery” (awarded 1 352,40 USD for the High School plaque);
  • Marek Rekucki and the Mszana Dolna Shtetl Foundation: “Commemoration of the Victims of the August 19, 1942, including installation of a plaque listing the names and age of those killed and a ceremony in their honor” (awarded 3 381,00 USD);
  • Mariusz Sokołowski and the Open Education Foundation: “Białystok Remembers!” (awarded 1 908,01 USD);
  • Paweł Bajerlein and the Krotochwile Association: “Greetings from Koźmin!” (awarded 2 704,80 USD);
  • Teresa Jabłońska and the Children of Września Foundation: “History and Culture of Jewish Września. Young People in Sites of Memory” (awarded 2 213,43 USD);
  • Anna Włodek and the Gliwicka 66 Association: “To Our Neighbors” (awarded 1 806,81 USD).

The Commission also requested an increase in the amount allocated for the grant competition to award to two projects:

  • Anna Włodek and the Gliwicka 66 Association: “To Our Neighbors” (awarded additional 1 574,19 USD);
  • Mariusz Czuj and the Gates of Memory Włodawa-Sobibór Association: “Ghetto in Włodawa – 80th Anniversary of the Ghetto Liquidation” (awarded 1 499,36 USD for educational activities).

Decisions regarding these additions will be announced on February 28, 2023.

Projects selected in the Local Activism Scholarship Competition:

  • Ireneusz Socha: “Life/Live Music: A Series of Events at the Dębica Synagogue” (awarded 1 536,78 USD);
  • Michał Szaflarski: “Digital Archive of Czarny Dunajec Jewish Community” (awarded 1 536,78 USD).

 

Projects selected in the Personal Development Scholarship Competition:

  • Ireneusz Socha for the purchase of audio equipment awarded 1 024,54 USD;
  • Mariusz Czuj awarded 1 215,81 USD to cover the fees of participation in the graduate program “Polish-Jewish Studies” at the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as ELS courses.

In 2023, the Leaders of Dialogue program, including grants and scholarships, is financed thanks to the generosity of Friends of the Forum, LEDOR WADOR Foundation, United States Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad and individual donors and institutions from Poland and abroad supporting Forum for Dialogue. Scholarships for personal development are possible thanks to The David and Anna Dlugie Kliger Scholarship Fund.
