The year is 2011. I receive an invitation to participate in the School of Dialogue project from Forum of Dialogue. And just a moment before, after completing my studies in a different city, I decided to come back to my hometown of Radom, to work there with and for the local youth. I meet extraordinary people, both among my colleagues and students. They all gave me deeper insights into Radom and made me think about my hometown in deeper and more meaningful way. I graduated from the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin, majoring in sociology and history. I teach history and social science at school, I am a coordinator of the Volunteer Center in the Youth Center Arka in Radom. My interests include multigenerational families, literature for young adults, cinema and the Polish mountains. I teach classes on Radom’s history and its multicultural aspects.

Along with my students I participate in cultural events revolving around these issues. I also create school radio shows, and inter-school games about the Jewish past of my city. I co-organize meetings for study tours led by Forum of Dialogue, prepare sightseeing routes and train my students to become guides. I think that such initiatives are needed and very rewarding professionally. Thanks to team work, our students not only learn more about the history of their city but also meet interesting people and become more open. I find it very important that history is presented in the experiential learning setting, teaching us to look into future, create bonds, and to work together in groups. I would like to continue to expand my knowledge on this topic, understand history better to be able to share it with others with passion and credibility.
